SERVICES
Every session is tailored to my clients' goals and preferences. Sessions often include samplings of several types of techniques (see descriptions below). I occasionally incorporate hot stones, heating pads, hot towels, cupping, and other elements, based on the goals we are trying to achieve during a given session. It's important to me that we have all the tools and modalities available to provide what feels supportive to your body, without worrying about price. Therefore, I operate on a sliding scale model based on the duration of the session, rather than type of service. In other words, there are no up-charges based on the type of bodywork you receive. MYOFASCIAL MASSAGE
Myofascial massage is a form of bodywork intended to reduce pain, increase range of motion, and rebalance the body to improve quality and ease of motion. It includes techniques that stretch the fascia and release the bonds that exist between the fascia, muscles and bones. Fascia is the connective tissue that connects and covers all muscles, organs, and skeletal structures of the body. Many people experience pain and dysfunction because of restrictions present within the fascial system.
SWEDISH MASSAGE
Swedish Massage is a relaxing and therapeutic style of bodywork. It combines strokes such as rolling, kneading, and percussion to help the body improve its circulation and promote relaxation. The benefits are wide-ranging and include relief from aches and pains, decreased stress levels in the body, enhanced mental clarity, and greater flexibility.
DEEP TISSUE MASSAGE
This is a form of bodywork that aims to relieve tension in the deeper layers of tissue in the body. It is a highly effective method for releasing trigger points ("knots") and chronic stress areas due to misalignment, repetitive motions, and past lingering injuries.
RATES
The price list below includes the going rate for my services ("suggested rate"). I offer a sliding scale in recognition that some people in our community struggle to make ends meet. Many people are not adequately compensated for their work or have other financial stressors that make regular bodywork feel out of reach. Likewise, some clients may be able to afford more and are willing to pay a premium to help offset discounts for other clients. The sliding scale below is designed to honor both situations.
I set my rates to meet my needs. Any payment above the suggested rate provides support for sliding-scale work.
